Description: As with several previous governors (Beasley, Hodges, and Sanford), the Constituent Services Division of Governor Nikki Haley utilized a FileMaker Pro database to track incoming constituent correspondence. The database was converted in Microsoft Access 2007 format. It contained several dozen reports that were utilized by the Constituent Services Division. The database consists of one large table, which has been converted into OpenDocument spreadsheet (.ods), comma-separated value (.csv) text file, and eXtensible Markup Language (.xml) formats. Records in XML format are the preservation standard; column headers are retained and data fields are not truncated as they are in spreadsheets or tab-delimited text files. The correspondence described by this database is currently stored off-site. Archives staff will require advance notice to provide access to these records. Some correspondence indexed by this database may contain medical information or personal indentifying information such as Social Security Numbers and should be reviewed by staff.
