I am mother & grandmother who has a heart for the well being of our children in SC. I would like to share the personal story of my son & daughter-in-law. They have two biological children, but have always wanted to adopt. Their desire to adopt is based on wanting to care for a child who is unwanted, unloved & uncared for. They began the DSS progress to become foster parents about two years ago & now have been registered as a foster care home for at least a year. They only want to do foster to adopt. They have attended several adoptions fairs & expressed interest in several children but have never received the children. I find it hard to believe in our state there are not any children who need a permanent loving home! I am using my family as an example & am not writing this for help for them but to understand where the problem lies. I have talked with people who were registered as foster care families but stopped due to the problems with placements. Governor please help to overall our DSS system!
