22nd Annual Loris Bog-Off Festival
LORIS---The 22nd Annual Loris Bog-Off Festival will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2001, in downtown Loris.
The weeklong festivities begin on Saturday, October 13th with a street dance featuring the music of the O'Kaysions. Other activities during the week include a spaghetti dinner, a bingo contest, and Bog-Off Country night, which is complete with a pig-picking at Maxie Williamson's Farm & Tractor Antiques on Fair Bluff Hwy in the Green Sea community.
Bog-Off Day is on Saturday, October 20th and kicks off with a parade at 9 a.m. where Les Tindal, Commissioner of Agriculture, will be the Grand Marshall. While numerous contestants work on perfecting their chicken bogs, guests will be entertained with arts and crafts exhibits, the Swamp Fox Tractor and Engine Club, antique car exhibits, and entertainment on three different stages throughout the day. Chicken bog dinner plates prepared by the Jamestown Chefs will be available for sale.
