Dear Governor Nikki Haley,
Thank you for signing a new domestic violence law on June 4, 2015.
There are some things I have not disclosed to the Governor's Domestic Violence Task Force.
On April 23, 2014 I needed to talk with Victim Advocate with N Charleston PD. I refused to talk with Victim Advocate Minna Hosseini because she has treated with contempt since the 1st day I met her in June 2013. I filed incident against my abuser. She told Detective Tony Middleton that she was too busy to talk to me because she was dealing with homicide. She also told me it was fault I was getting calls from abuser because I did not change my phone number. I confronted Ms. Hosseini about violating my right to be treated win respect and dignity. I demanded for the Post and Courier to do my video ASAP because I sensed something would happen to me. On April 24, 2014 I was taken into custody and admitted into mental institution. I do not take medication because I know my body can heal itself if it's given enough rest, food, and less stress. I was heavily medicated for several months which caused my accident in August 2014. I was not suppose to live through that car accident but managed to escape because God spared my life.In December 2015, I was having panic attacks due to hard living conditions at YWCA shelter in Sumter. I detailed what was happening in Toumey ER. YWCA staff said some things that caused me to be admitted to mental institution. I told officers God was watching and he never sleeps on his watch. The officers threatened to drive really fast to scare me. On the way to mental institution police car had flat. I told officers God was trying to send them a message to deal justice not vengeance. Officers said they could not release me because they were under judge's order. While in custody, Sumter PD would not let me go to the bathroom because I already went. They said we would ride real fast with windows down so I would wet myself. I told them it was nerves. I had to wait for a female officer to come because they did not have one in the car. We went to Petco. Female officer shoved me to show crowd I was dangerous criminal. I was tired standing with handcuffs so I leaned against the car for support. The officer yelled at me and told me to get away from his car. It was freezing in the rain. I was trying to stay warm. It was very degrading and humiliating.
On July 9, 2016 I filed report with Sumter Police Department against my boss Joseph Whiting for taking advantage of me and violating boundaries with me. Officer C. Osteen said it was not assault because I gave in to Mr. Whiting. I have been assaulted many times. In my personal experience men are hunters and do whatever it takes subdue their prey/victim. I have learned to cooperate if I cannot get away to survive and minimize injury. Officer Osteen said he cannot charge Mr. Whiting with assault. However, he could charge me with adultery.
Officer M. Dow King asked me how much money I had, why I left Myrtle Beach, and what my plans are. I said I could not answer all of these questions because I'm dealing with trauma. My goal is to stay alive so my son has a mother.
My son started sobbing after hearing officers' response.
I started sending out SOS messages because I did not want police to harm me in front of my son.
I tried to talk to Officer M. Dow King. She said she could not talk to me because I was talking to people and texting messages.
I told my family and friends what police do when no one is watching. Officer took my son into separate room away from me. They called my ex-husband to pick up our son and interfered with visitation. They fed my son food, but did not offer me anything. I guess they forgot I brought them cookies as a sign of holding no grudges after what they did to me in December 2015.
I started singing to help my son calm down. I sang Amazing Grace, Star Spangled Banner, love songs, and even did Tai Chi demo. I was determined Sumter Police Department was not going to get the best of me. This does not minimize the terror I have when dealing with the police.
This time I was released without harm because my son, ex-husband, and his wife were there.
Additional info for 7/9/2016 report:
Found gun at office. Mr. Whiting says it's not real gun but he confirmed he knows where the bullets are. Mr. Whiting is buying building 455 Rast St from Dean Gainey with Advantage Realty. He is former military, Tai Chi instructor, and taken self-defense class from MMA Robinson. He's very smooth, can lie to your face without flinching.I've sustained PTSD and trauma, gone from 120 to 109 lbs. I'm doing my best with self-care until I can get professional help.
If I don't make it, please do the following for me:
Tell my son Michael that I am so proud of him. He is the best son a mother could have--a gentleman.
Tell Sergeant Ricky S. Johnson he's my hero. I'm so glad I lived long enough to finally kiss a prince, not a frog, in the State of South Carolina. I'm the luckiest girl in the world.
Wherever I am, "I Got South Carolina on My Mind." I will always love you South Carolina, the home of smiling faces and beautiful places.
Sincerely,
Princess Dolly Ritchie
P.S. Mr. Whiting will probably cut off my phone because it's company phone. You can try facetime, email, or messenger.
