Haley from HPN Books to publish a statewide book on Manufacturing in SC 98.84.71.50 Good afternoon, This email is a follow-up to request an appointment with Gov. Haley to further discuss the proposal by HPN Books to research, write and publish a coffee table book on Manufacturing in South Carolina. As the writer (who lives in Greenville), we would consider the history of manufacturing (textiles) through modern-day technology manufacturing to include companies throughout the state, i.e., Boeing, GE, BMW, Lockheed, Michelin, Volvo, etc. The book would tell about the early days, how we have progressed, what we are doing now (CU-ICAR and the Innovative Manufacturing Center being built; specific companies; manufacturing as it contributes to the economy, well-trained workforce via technical colleges, egress and ingress with reference to transport of goods, and so on. Please respond to this email: garnette1@bellsouth.net; or call me in Greenville at 864-268-1363 to schedule a time when Gov. Haley can meet with Mr. Lammert and me. Please allow a week or so to allow for his travel from San Antonio. I am a long time writer for HPN, and have a long history as a newspaper/broadcast reporter and ad agency marketing manager, have managed an account for Gov. Beasley. I contribute to America in WWII magazine, U. S. Airways in-flight magazine, and have consulted for the City of Greenville with helping to recruit new industry/business when Bill Workman was Mayor. In fact, the book we are proposing is ideal for that purpose. Thank you. Kindest regards, Garnette Bane
