(Charleston-AP) September 30,
2005 - Governor Mark Sanford received a warm reception
at a conference in Charleston with representatives from
conservative think tanks across the nation.
The State Policy Network in California is sponsoring
the conference. The meeting has policy sessions on
everything from a taxpayer bill of rights to school
choice.
Jon Caldara with the Independence Institute in
Colorado told a Charleston newspaper he's heard good
things about Sanford and the issues he's working on.
Sanford spoke to a closed reception Thursday night.
Those attending said Sanford mentioned his legislative
proposals to limit the size of government and received a
standing ovation.
Groups at the conference include representatives of
Americans for Tax Reform, Citizens Against Government
Waste and the Heritage Foundation.
