My name is Candice Dickard. I am raising my granddaughter Selah G. Springs. Her parents both have court ordered child support. However, my daughter has never made a voluntary payment and told me that she won't. However, she filed a tax return and they took it out of her refund. So, I called 0 to check the balance and it had dropped from $1026 to $54. I was excited thinking she had paid it and that I was going to receive money. Because there's no way for the balance to drop unless a payment was made. Only to find out that I won't receive it till September because they're holding it 180 days to allow her spouse time to dispute it since it's not his child. I guarantee you that if it was money owed to the IRS or government agency they wouldn't give the spouse 10 days to dispute it. This is ridiculous that I already know that she's never going to pay it and now there it is and I won't receive it because they're considering the spouse. What about the child or those caring for her? You know, I am actually interested in fostering children but it's these issues that stand in way. I have a difficult time believing that I will receive any support should I decide to foster when I can't even get support while raising my granddaughter. I know that nothing will come of this message but I figured at least I could vent my frustrations. Thank you. 107.77.232.201
