Did anyone in your office REALLY READ WHAT I WROTE? there is= no way, your answer was just a canned statement with absolutely NO regard = to what I wrote, what I believe in and my worries about what you and others= are trying to destroy.........  this was very disappointing as a 36 y= ear resident of SC....   I am still be disbelief with your response.

"As a fifty= -five-year-old woman, I found it hard to believe that my private sector hea= lth insurance could be $200 more a month than that of my sixty-one-year- ol= d husband, due solely to the fact that I am a woman. Never mind the fact th= at I am a vegan, healthy and fit. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) enacted by = President Obama put an end to this and more unfair practices. Now I along w= ith my husband and MILLIONS of Americans are at risk of losing their health= insurance. I, for one, am scared to death.

My husband and I own a = small tennis club in Greer, South Carolina. We make enough to survive and p= ay our bills.  We did, however, have to drop our private sector insura= nce that was increasing to $1700 a month.  There was no way we could c= ontinue this payment.  That=E2=80=99s when we turned to the ACA. = The ACA allowed us to once again have health coverage, affordable health c= overage. 2017 will be our second year.

At our ages, we must now wor= ry that we will lose what we have after our years of hard work. If either o= f us were to have a catastrophic health condition without insurance we coul= d lose it all - our business, our home, and  - the worst - our lives.<= /i>

I am writing to you for your support for Ray and me and the million= s more Americans that could find ourselves with no health insurance yet aga= in.  Please fight for what is right in our country, not what is wrong.=   Please give us all a chance - a chance to stay healthy, a chance to = live, a chance not to be a burden. We could be forced into a situation wher= e we could not pay our bills and end up on the street.

 You thin= k that sounds outrageous?  Well it=E2=80=99s not.  With the high = cost of today=E2=80=99s medical care, this scenario could easily destroy ou= r lives as well as the lives of many fellow Americans in similar circumstan= ces.

From what I see and hear, most wealthier Americans don=E2=80=99t= approve of PPACA and believe that lower income families and individuals do= n=E2=80=99t deserve any help.  A big part of what makes America great = is that we do help each other and especially those less fortunate.

&n= bsp;We are able to qualify for this program because we truly do not bring h= ome much money.  We work hard just to keep our business alive.  W= e have both exhausted our retirement savings in order to establish and main= tain our business.  Our business is now our retirement and we can=E2= =80=99t afford to lose it.  Our story is just one of millions=E2=80=A6= =E2=80=A6.

Do you really want to see us all come up short? Do you rea= lly want us all to fail? Do you really want us all to lose all that we have= ?  Please pray about it, please understand and please FIGHT for us all= .

Dear Ms. Frazier,
=
Than= k you for your correspondence regarding my administration=E2=80=99s consist= ent opposition to the Affordable Care Act, more commonly known as Obamacare= .

As long as I am Governor, South C= arolina will not implement the public policy disaster that is Obamacare.  We are not going to jam more South Carolinians into this broke= n program =E2=80=93 one that stifles innovation and discourages personal re= sponsibility while encouraging fraud, waste, and abuse, not to mention cost= ing taxpayers billions of dollars a year.  The =E2=80=9Cglitc= hes=E2=80=9D we are all witnessing with the government healthcare website a= nd enrollment process are just the beginning; the real problems with Obamac= are are still to come, and that is why we are continuing to fight against i= t every day.
 =
The good news is that = in the Palmetto State, in spite of most provisions of Obamacare, we are wor= king with employers, hospitals, private insurers, doctors, and patients on = the real problems that affect the health and well-being of South Carolinian= s.  Instead of expanding Medicaid, we=E2=80=99ve been working= to change the way we deliver healthcare in our state.  Going= forward, I will continue to fight for the flexibility states need in order= to focus on improving health instead of just purchasing more health proced= ures.  This strategy will allow us to reduce compliance burde= ns for providers and insurers while addressing social determinants =E2=80= =93 such as education and poverty =E2=80=93 that are also associated with h= ealth outcomes.

As I have said fr= om the beginning, South Carolina does not want or need Washington-based sol= utions to address healthcare in our state.  If Washingto= n truly cared about improving the health of our citizens, it would get out = of the way and let South Carolina find the right solutions for South Caroli= nians.  Thank you for your attention to and concern about thi= s important matter. <= span style=3D"font-size:11.5pt; "> Please contact me if I may be of further= assistance.  God bless.
M= y very best,
Nikk= i R. Haley
