Established in 2012, the Berkeley Forum is a non-partisan, student-run organization that coordinates panels, debates, and talks on a wide range of relevant, intellectually engaging ideas. Over the past two years, we have had the pleasure of hosting many distinguished speakers, including U.S. Senator Rand Paul, Khan Academy Founder Sal Khan, and ACLU President Susan Herman. This semester, our lineup includes Mythbusters co-host Jamie Hyneman, creator of Mathematica Stephen Wolfram, and Vice President of Microsoft Research Jeannette Wing. Your contributions to modern politics have been truly inspirational to the student body, and we hope that you will be able to honor us by addressing the Berkeley community during our Fall session. In particular, we are very excited about your work in shaping the modern Republican Party. We believe that your perspective and experience would make for an exceptionally stimulating discussion on our campus. We are in the process of planning our Fall session, which runs from August 29th to December 2nd, 2016, and we would be thrilled for you to join us. If you are unavailable during our Fall session, we would be happy to have you speak in a later semester. I would love to talk with you in more detail about our organization and our vision of your event. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly. Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. Sincerely, Sachin Holdheim The Committee on Programming The Berkeley Forum sholdheim@berkeley.edu info@forum.berkeley.edu (650) 704-0521 www.forum.berkeley.edu
