Dear Gov Haley,
I have an unusual request tonight.  While surfing the web recently I discovered the "jigger", which is a small flea that burrows into human skim, particularly the feet and hands.  2 million Kenyans are infested with them.  They thrive in different areas of the world that have similar climates.  I think they may be in India as well.  I have been reading/watching videos of the treatment of jigger victims. The videos are posted on FB by killthejigger.org.
My reason for contacting you is; 1.  can your office ensure that killthejigger.org is legitimate?  2.  given that SC is in a state of economic upswing due to your efforts, can we have SC medical personnel investigate? 3. can you involve the WHO?
I sit in my comfy chair night after night watching the plight of these helpless people.  We are investigating Pluto.  We pack football stadiums with 80k plus people in Clemson and Columbia.  We make more money and have more things than we ever have.  Again, due in large part to your world-wide contacts and your efforts to bring jobs to SC.  Thank you for all you do.
If you are your staff can shed some light on this it would be a wonderful thing.  I doubt 99% of us have ever heard of it.  If you have insight as to where to start and tell me how to get involved.  I mentioned this to a journalist with thetandd.com in the hopes that she would write an article but I don't think it interested her.  I understand that.  It's not a pleasant subject.
I don't usually get on soap boxes or wave flags.  However,the images of these human beings receiving treatment is etched on my mind and I am convinced SC can do something.  Maybe we already have are and I just don't know about it.
