Our local government plans to raise our taxes the highest amount the law will allow to buy Tahoes and AR15 Assault Riffles for our police department.  Additionally, the budget our Police Chief has proposed and has been accepted by Council is going to be tripled  when Council adopts the new budget in June.  Council does not want to hear feedback, nor have they allowed citizens to comment on this issue.  Most of our crime is shoplifting and car break-ins.  Taxpayers would rather buy economical vehicles and not give the police chief free reign to spend as he wishes.  Simpsonville should only spend what it can afford but it seems our Council intends to put us in severe debt no matter what anyone says.  They lack leadership skills, common sense, and financial knowledge.  They intend to spend 5 million dollars over our projected revenues.  Can you help us?  South Carolina does not need a blemish that is caused by Simpsonville government behaving like they are ignorant, stubborn and corrupt.
