Hudson 1118 Powell Rd Red Boiling Springs TN 37150 hudfarm@nctc.com GOVE Admiration Dear Governor Haley: I once admired you deeply. In you I saw a great hope: a hope that would allow the South to finally put its best traits forward in combination with its historic sacrifices for the continuance of a Constitutional Republic. You stood firm by the history of your State, and I believed you to be earnest in your stand to reconcile the past with the present for the better. Your State prospered greatly, a prosperity I witnessed myself during a visit last year. A prosperity born of and blessed by your past hard stance for the rights of both your State and others in the South, that highlighted the honorable parts of our shared history and proved them by action. You have destroyed that pride in me. My deep admiration has been converted to a humiliation by deception I will not forget, nor forgive. You know the numbers in your own State, and the entire South in opposition to the removal of the flag from a Memorial to this history - and why. I would think it not necessary for the Republican party to campaign in the South, at all. This has been the unwitting end of your party by the Democrats. This was a trap I honestly thought you wiser than to fall into. I thought the Republican party wiser. I was wrong. You and your party, are wrong. You have unleashed an avalanche of pent-up retribution against the South by not only its enemies; but the enemies of free-market capitalism, the Bill of Rights, and anything the South historically stood for apart from slavery. You have single-handedly de-legitimized the very principles you employed to foster the prosperity of your State. You will live to see your accomplishments unravel, moved to the locations of your adversaries, and the Central Government dictate every facet of its subjects' lives. You have been party to the re-burning of Columbia, if not in fact - certainly in principle. Its not just a sad day for the South, but anything that ever was American.
