CHARLESTON, S.C. - Nearly 20 Charleston Air
Force reservists will report for active duty next Monday, following
notification by the Air Force Reserve Command last week.
The members of the 315th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron will be
joining nearly three dozen reservists who were deployed in April.
The reservists will transport and care for injured service members
around the world.
The squad members being called for duty include flight crews and
support workers.
Gov. Mark Sanford was formerly a member of the unit. In March,
Sanford transferred to the Air Force's National Security Emergency
Preparedness Agency, which helps coordinate between the military and
state agencies in times of natural disaster or homeland
emergencies. |
