Dear Governor Haley,
I am a resident of California, but spent 3 years living in Columbia, SC during the time my husband was completing his medical residency at USC. As an Asian American, I must tell you how appalled I was to see the Confederate flag flying on the capitol grounds. South Carolina has many beautiful things to offer, but this flag is not one of them. It is an ugly reminder of this country's history of racism. I hope you can use your power and voice to advocate for the removal of this blatant symbol of hate, bigotry, and oppression. It's time to take this flag down.
