Previous post had spelling errors: Hello, I'm a disgruntled Republican and believe the Republicans will lose the election for president, partly because of Fox News. Fox News has lost so much credibility over the years. For example: 1. Obama birth certificate- Nonsense. Is Hawaii a foreign country? 2. Obama a Muslim- Lie- born raised Christian and is currently Christian. 3. Obama Care is VA type social healthcare- Far from the truth. I'm an accountant and do taxes. I'm very familiar with the Affordable Care Act. I don't like it, but it is not socialist healthcare. I believe it is more of a capitalist approach to reduce Medicaid (which is socialist). 4. Obama caused ISIS. Really, you really want to go there? The cause of ISIS is because of our unjustified war with Iraq. More about that later. Most recently, how Fox news and several Republican candidates running for president called out Obama for not discussing the 10 sailors held in Iran. How irresponsible to want to politicize this event risking the lives of our servicemen. The reality was the White House was all over the situation which was resolved the next day. Mentioning it in the State of the Union address would have turned this into a major event. Republicans looked so foolish, so second string, so unpresidential. (Our sailors had mechanical problems and were in Iranian waters. The Iranians fed our sailors, returned their arms and ammo, refueled the boat and freed them after one day). So a tiny bit about me. I'm a white middle aged accountant who has always been a member of the Republican Party. I was a "lockstep" republican until the Iraq war. This war made me suspicious of the Republican Party. As of this year, the GOP admitted the war with Iraq was a mistake. No weapons of mass destruction...no ties to 911. The U.S. lost around 4,500 troops with some 32,000 injured. The war cost billions of dollars. After the war with over 125,000 Iraqis dead, (and an equal number wounded). Iraq was in shambles. As we did not know, the Sunni and Shiite Muslims hated each other and mass killings emerged. The country was destabilized (Saddam Hussein was able to somehow keep the peace, but we killed him). So the two factions got together, and basically agreed that despite their differences, an Islamic State and a war with the West was more justified than killing each other. Thus ISIS was born. Not because Obama pulled troops (to the tune of Billions of dollars, how long were we to occupy Iraq? Would you propose making it our 51st state?) The Bush Administration AND the Republican Party are DIRECTLY responsible for ISIS. No grey area...Period. So back to FOX News. Republicans now have serous trust issues. Fox News with its one sided stories and flat out lies is making the Republican Party LESS trustworthy. For me, I have transitioned from a "lockstep" Republican, to a Moderate, and now, unfortunately, I'm an Independent. (I can never see myself becoming a Democrat, however I might vote in that direction on occasion). I have no place to turn to find out FACTS about the Republican Party. Your losing me. And on those few occasions I turn to Fox in an attempt for information, I temporarily vow never to vote Republican. Their news coverage is insulting. Their cast and coverage is so "B league". I truly believe stations like Fox News and of course MSNBC are bad for their parties, bad for politics, bad for America. I want the facts. I don't want biased commentary. Of course Fox tells you all other sources are biased. That is part of their brain washing. It's all about ratings. (I listen to NPR which I believe is the least biased. At least they are not flagrantly biased and insulting like Fox). If the Republicans want to win the election, avoid Fox News like the plague. They are poison. Archive this email until after the election. If...or when... the Republicans lose again, you might want to give some serious thought to completely cutting ties with Fox News. Gain some credibility for God's sake. Speaking of God (last point), be very careful about pitching the Republican Party as "God's choice". Though the Democrats are knee deep in the blood of baby abortions, the Republicans are waist deep in the blood of hundreds of thousands of "murdered" Iraq's in a war history will conclude was a mistake. I'm pretty sure Jesus Christ would not vote for either party. So in absence of God's blessings, our country is in BIG TROUBLE! I'm so disgusted with both parties. Now the big question for you is...are my thoughts outliers...or are they mainstream? Clean up your act Republicans! Get as far away from Fox News as possible. They will destroy the Republican Party! Michael Sill PS Please check my unique name Michael Silli and you will see I've been a card carrying Republican for over three decades. I will never blindly vote Republican again. My vote will have to be earned.
