American Airlines was great ( My Savanah flight was cancelled) so I rented from Enterprise ( also great!) and drove to Charlotte. The traffic was heavy and the route circuitous but the State Patrol and Ntl Guard were outstanding and most helpful ! I could also see many state and private service vehicles going east to help. Thank you. What ruined my trip is when I checked I asked the desk person why the rate was so high and she responded that all the hotels had raised their rate because of the hurricane!!! I can afford it but many evacuees couldn't.... I watched a number of families checking in and they were shocked. They never anticipated this + they were leaving a home that might not be there when they return . They were "hurting" and definitely being taken advantage of by unconscionable business persons. I know it's not your intent but they're possibly thinking [ the elected officials tell us to evacuate then their contributors profit] - Again, I know that's not the plan but i understand why they're probably angry . I'm really sad to see that businesses and their leaders like this still exist. Thanks for listening. Maybe a class action by the AG....... Might send a message to those with no conscious and greed. Or in the alternative have the State Patrol oil the highways and then have the tow trucks, emergency vehicles and medical personnel charge double. We could probably have the same hotel businesspersons run the operations.....they would reap impressive profits! Sincerely, Craig Andersen
