This email is to provide information on the forwarded correspondence from Mr. Keith A. Hewitt, Sr. referenced below.

Mr. Hewitt filed a Request for Final Review with the Department’s Board in this matter on May 24, 2016. The Board notified Mr. Hewitt by way of letter dated June 22, 2016 that they declined to hold a Final Review Conference. Therefore, the staff decision became the Final Agency Decision on that date.

Pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. § 44-1-60 Mr. Hewitt is still within the 30-day timeframe to request a Contested Case before the Administrative Law Court. However, the Department will continue its efforts to resolve this matter without litigation and has contacted Mr. Hewitt's legal counsel. Attached please find the Staff Summary prepared in response to Mr. Hewitt's Request for Final Review which outlines the background in this matter.
