I do want to know who is the person and department that has the responsibility for road maintenance? My next question is we have been paying taxes for road maintenance and it seems that nothing was happening. So the reality is, are we holding someone accountable for lack of effort and results? I have been a manager most of my life and this seems like a real breakdown of responsibility and follow-up. I know things go to the top, but there is no way Nikki can handle all that needs to happen. So what department and person will be held accountable. I am not satisfied with just fixing the roads because if some change isn't made, we will face this again later. It seems we do not know how to budget for continuous repair or hold contractors accountable for the installation and repair of good roads. It isn't enough to repair but the repairs must be of a quality fix. It seems other states have figured this out. Why can't we?
