Greenville (AP) - An affordable housing task force says many elected officials ignore the problem in South Carolina.
The group issued a detailed list of more than 50 recommendations a year ago to improve the state's housing conditions, but most have not been implemented.
Anita Floyd is a member of the task force who works for the University of South Carolina's Institute for Families.
She wants someone to stand up and be a leader on the issue in the Legislature and the governor's office.
The 44-member panel spent almost two years working on recommendations at the request of former Governor Jim Hodges.
Governor Mark Sanford (website - news) 's spokesman says the governor is willing to listen to the recommendations.
