(Charleston-AP) July 1, 2006 - Ten prisoners
being taken from the Charleston County jail to
court were injured when the van they were riding
in was rear-ended by a truck on Interstate
26.
Charleston County sheriff's Captain John
Clark says none of the injuries from Friday's
accident were life-threatening.
The wreck happened when the prisoner van
tried to swerve to avoid a ladder lying in the
road and was hit from behind by a flatbed truck.
The wreck is being investigated by the
South Carolina Highway Patrol.
