SLED says 12 in Midlands charged with insurance fraud

(Columbia-AP) Dec. 2, 2003 - The State Law Enforcement Division says twelve Midlands residents have been charged with filing false claims to insurance companies.

SLED says the false claims totaled $80,000 and related to five staged incidents that occurred between June 1997 and January 2002.

Seven Bamberg residents were charged with presenting a false claim for payment. They are Crystal Glover, Michael Glover, Robert Glover Senior, Robert Glover Junior, Evelyn Goolsby, Vivian D. Mitchell and Wilmer Wright.

Three Denmark residents face the same charge: Wade Chavis, Danny and Debra Glover.

Heather Peel and Alfred Young both of Springfield are also charged with presenting a false claim for payment.
