SCRA is the Deputy Chief of US Delegation to the World Manufacturing Forum, the biannual conference of the global Intelligent Manufacturing Systems Consortium. The IMS is one of the chief means by which SCRA brings advanced manufacturing technology through the SC Manufacturer's Alliance to SC manufacturers. 1. WMF 2016 will be held 3-4 May 2016 in Barcelona, Spain at Casa Llotja de Mar (http://www.casallotja.com/) 2. The organizing committee is very interested in Governor Haley as a speaker for the opening session. The expected format is to have a panel of global manufacturing leaders. Each panel member will be given time to make individual remarks and a roundtable discussion will follow. The organizing committee would very much like to hear Gov. Haley's comments regarding her actions to attract manufacturing to SC (Session 2) and the resulting success stories. Invited opening session participants include the King of Spain and Commissioners of the European Union. 3. Following the opening session, Governor Haley and the other panelists would participate in a news conference in a dedicated room at the venue. 4. The EU is hosting the event and their budget is 500K ? (over $500K) - Governor's expenses paid by the Conference. 5. Approximately 400 attendees are expected; roughly 60% of them will be from manufacturing industries in EU, Asia, and North America 6. The program includes eight sessions (below). SCRA's Mark Housley has been invited and accepted to speak about our Stage 2 co-investment with Toyota in Carbon Conversions, Inc. a leader in carbon fiber recycling in Lake City, SC as part of Session 7.
