All of you as members of her team as a matter of fact must be a bit overwhelmed. Please be encouraged. Please, let Gov. Haley know that people in the community like myself are keeping her in prayer. Let her know that we recognize how hard changing her position on the Confederate Flag is. But, also let her know that she has done the right thing. This is coming from a 43-year-old African American woman who typically votes Democrat and does not agree with any of the ideals of the Tea Party. However, regardless of that, I have always applauded and tried to salute and support Governor Haley for three basic truths: 1. She is a female. 2. She is a minority in that her parents are from the Punjab District in India. 3. She is my Governor. A leader. A female, minority leader at the Executive Level!! I'm soooo proud about that and have bragged about it in presentations I have given over here in Kampala, Uganda. I might not like her politics all the time, but I am so proud of her and my state. I left Columbia in 2011 with my family because of white supremacy/racism, lack of opportunity in SC, and the goal of NOT raising my children in a region where so many of the people are so backwards thinking. In spite of those things and being so far away I have never forgotten my home and my people. I'm a South Carolinian and no matter what, I love my state and I grieve right now. I'm blabbering on. But, please...let Governor Haley know that all is well and that SC natives across the Atlantic applauded her for her actions. Ya'll be encouraged, Jocelyn Walters-Brannon, MPA
