I went to NC the other day and what a difference in the condition of roads in NC vs SC. NC road were in good shape. It just seems to me SC is losing out on revenue that could be used to fix our road system. Our gas tax is one of the lowest in the US. Consider all of the interstate travel that purchase gas in SC. It just seems to me that a small increase in the gas tax would bring in a lot of money to SC. Gas price in NC were around $.30 higher than SC. I think raising the gas tax along with using budgeted dollars would go along way in fixing our road and bridge system in SC.
