<WFUD_Request>On January 20, I was contacted by the US Army and informed that my son PFC Dequan Jamar Robinson had been shot and killed in Dillon. When I contacted the Dillon County Sheriff's office (via phone), they stated that since they had no way to verify that I was who I said I was, they would not be able to give me any information. He stated that he would need to contact my son's mom Lisa who lives in Lumberton to verify the information i gave him as to who I was matched what she gave.This part was very understandable--what came next is not. I got a call later in the evening from Captain Arnette stating that my son had gone to his ex-girlfriend's house with a shotgun. He and someone inside tussled with the gun and the gun went off. No one was hit by this initial blast according to Captain Arnette. Somehow a pistol came into play and my son ended up getting shot and killed. According to Captain Arnette, he was only shot once. This call was received around 9pm. My son's mother spoke with the Coroner Grimsley who told her a different story. He stated to her that my son had been shot 3 times but that he did not have any other bruises or broken bones. When his body was turned over to the mortician, we noticed that his nose had been broken and we also noticed several bruises and what appeared to be shoe prints. When I went there for the funeral, I stopped and spoke with Sonny McRae who is the 911 coordinator and got a copy of the 911 call(s). Upon listening to the call, the operator attempted to have the caller assist with CPR but she refused. The operator asked if there was any blood and she stated no. The officers had difficulty finding the house, which delayed their response. After hearing the initial call, there were other calls that came in from someone who stated he dropped my son off at a house near a place called Reflexxions which is a strip club in Dillon near South of the Border. According to the police report which I also got a copy of as well as the 911 call, the incident happened over 7 miles away from Reflexxions. While listening to the call I drove around Dillon and found the strip club as well as the house they are claiming the incident occurred and can confirm that the two places are completely across town from each other. The police report also stated that my son, who was shot and supposedly dead when the police got there, was sitting on the couch. I do not understand how, if there was a struggle for a firearm, someone ends up sitting on the couch when as was stated on the call, he was on the floor. If there was no blood, where did the shooting occur? I have quite a few other questions that also need to be answered and the Dillon County Sheriff's office will not return any calls from neither my son's mother nor me. There are also questions concerning the viability of Grimsley as the coroner. I do not know this as fact, but there have been rumors that he is not properly trained/certified as to what the duties are or should be for a coroner. Any information that you are able give to help ease our minds would be greatly appreciated.</WFUD_Request>
