Condon Expected to Make Run for Senate

Charleston, SC (AP) - Former Attorney General Charlie Condon is expected to formally announce his candidacy for the Republican nomination for the US Senate Tuesday.  He'll make the announcement during a speech at The Citadel

Condon is seeking the nomination for the seat Democrat Fritz Hollings is giving up

At least three other Republicans are seeking the nomination: Representative Jim DeMint of Greenville, Myrtle Beach Mayor Mark McBride, and real estate developer Thomas Ravenel

Democrats seeking the seat include state Education Superintendent Inez Tenenbaum, Columbia Mayor Bob Coble and Camden native Marcus Belk
