Just a quick thought. If a veteran was to go to their local Police/ Sheriff and register as an individual that would have the privilege to carry a concealed handgun in places where concealed handguns are not normally allowed. This may pose as a deterrent, when officers are not present, as well as a means for quicker response in the event that aid to a critical situation is needed. Maybe as a small pilot program at first. This would help in the abilities of an able bodied person being prepared; in the event that radical extremists are witnessed in doing things that need immediate action; as a first responder to one of these type incidents, it would in essence, expand law enforcement during an emergency type situation. Not everyone can complete the Auxillary Police program due to their current job requirements and commit to the 200+ hours. As a prior US military personnel, guardsman, and an honorably discharged veteran, when I swore an oath to defend the constitution, it did not stop at the time of my departure from the service. I'm sure there are many others that did this too. This is something that continues and we are willing to serve whenever our liberties as a nation and a community are in peril. May God bless you as you consider this communication. Todd Schiff John 15:13
