(Columbia-AP) Oct. 12, 2004 - Governor Mark Sanford
presented his agenda on Tuesday for the next legislative
session.
Sanford says he'll work with House and Senate
leadership on his "Contract for Change" to pass income
tax relief, government restructuring, more educational
choices for parents and tort reform.
He also wants to update the rules of the Senate,
which prevented some of his agenda from being passed
last year.
Most of these issues were around last session.
Last year, Sanford listed 16 legislative items as
priorities last session. Of those, the House passed 14
and the Senate passed three. Sanford says he'll be
discussing specifics for each of his five priorities
over the next few days.
