(Columbia) April 30, 2006 - OK, all you
boiled peanut lovers, it's time to unite. The mushy nut
is well on its way to becoming the official state
snack.
Gov. Sanford is traveling to Rock Hill Monday to sign
a bill into law that would make the boiled peanut
exclusive to South Carolina ... sort of.
Sanford will join Winthrop University graduate Tom
Stanford, who proposed the idea, and Rep. Gary Simrill
who signed the legislation.
