Haley: I write to express my deepest and sincere appreciation for your leadership in moving to remove the Confederate Battle Flag from the State Grounds. My daughter was born in Greenville and today she stand a bit taller as a Black South Carolinian because you have made her much prouder to say that she was born in South Carolina. I worked at Furman University as the Director of Minority Affairs in the 90's and attended USC to get my Doctorate. I drove for four years from Greenville to Columbia and each day as I drove to campus I had to witness the flag that represented to me "hate and horror" and injustice. The flag belongs in a museum. Thank you for your actions.
