I am writing to you to beg you not to consider joining President-Elect Trump's administration in any capacity. I know that the general SC public is not privy to the topic of your meeting with Trump today, but I think we can all read between the lines. It has become painfully clear that his administration will go down with the ship at some point in the next four years. From the choices he has made in positions so far, the continually childish tweets, to the obvious conflicts of interests he is surrounding himself with...he will be an embarrassment to our nation.And from his past actions, he will scapegoat everyone. I do not want to see you as one of those. While I did not vote for your governorship, and disagree with many of your policies and stances, your grace, calm and leadership during our floods, hurricanes, and Mother Emanuel tragedies have secured my faith in your compassion for all of SC. Trump will tarnish all that we have come to admire of you.Not only are he and Bannon the type of voices that lit and stoked the racist flame in Roof, they will do that to a growing number of Americans.Your work against those views will be in vain on a national platform. It will not matter your gender, experience or ethnicity. It will all fall on deaf ears. I understand the desire to serve your country and heal the Republican party, but being a part of his administration will not do that. Instead, you will be a part of it and all your work will be for not. I beg you to put your work and love of SC above your party, or rather Trump's party. As a democrat, I do not even recognize what he has created within the republican party. Please consider this, as I am sincere.
