Politics Stop the CPP
Dear Nikki Haley (R),
I urge you to
move forward with creating a plan to reduce carbon emissions in our state
despite the Supreme Court’s decision to issue a stay on the Clean Power
Plan. Communities across our state, especially low-income communities and
communities of color, are experiencing the impacts of the dirty energy
economy and climate change firsthand. We can’t afford to delay reducing
carbon emissions. By investing in a clean energy economy now, we can lower
utility rates and create jobs in the communities that need them
most.
The Supreme Court stay is in the interest of big coal and
energy companies, not the families and communities who are your
constituents. Stand on the right side of history and move forward with the
Clean Power Plan so we can put people and the planet
first.
Sincerely,
Saul Adelman
