Clemson University removed a man from campus simply because he was praying. I think that this was wrong because he was simply exercising his freedom of speech and the practice of his religion. Clemson University is state property, and all state and national constitutional rights of the individual should be protected on state property. If this man had been engaging in behavior detrimental to good order and discipline of the university, I would have opposed his actions. He was simply engaging in personal prayer. I humbly request that you, as the Chief Executive Officer of this state, use the power and authority of your office to ensure that this egregious violation of constitutional rights is rectified and prevented from happening again. Please respond in writing. I am... respectfully yours, Dan Nichols 117 Beaver Dam Rd Columbia SC 29223
