Well fast forward two years later and health care reform. I have gotten a new position and Medicaid no longer looks at your after tax income or give you income disregards and now my son is about to lose his Medicaid coverage. I am in tears typing this letter as we speak. I am contemplating taking a lower paying job just so my kids can have Medicaid coverage. I did not expect life to throw us this curveball but the cost of his care may not even be worth me working a higher paying job. I work for the state and its disheartening that his diabetic pump will cost me over $400 plus lets not forget 80/20. I am not looking for food or welfare, but I just want to be able to keep my son ALIVE or be given better coverage for our children. The funny thing is if I don't get my son his medical care the same agency I work for will take him away. What is a single mother with a sick son to do. I will do what I have to, but I just needed to let someone in power know how I am feeling right now. signed one hurt mother La Tasha Terry.
