If you could spare 15 minutes to call me I would greatly appreciate it. It is concerning my 83 year old neighbor who was taken into protective custody in September 2015 and eventually placed into a nursing home. Her drug addicted grandson was neglecting her and stealing her money. DSS went in and removed her from the home. I completely agree with this action. The actions that have transpired the past month is what has frustrated me. I have little to no faith in our DSS system. I have heard the horror stories about DSS but am currently experiencing it firsthand. I have other people who are aware of what is going on and have advised me to go to the news but I would prefer to handle this in a different manner if at all possible. I've reached out to DSS several times but feel as though they are trying to "cover" their butts at this point. This little old lady sits in a nursing home only wanting to go home while DSS stalls. She is only there because she trusted the wrong person. Christmas is only ten days away. What a great present it would be to tell her that she WILL be going home. I am trying to help her but haven't had much luck with our local DSS office. Please, please, please call me and help me get this resolved. Any assistance that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
