Dear Governor Haley:
I want to thank you first of all for all the good things you and your staff have done for the state of South Carolina. I'm sending you this message as a very concerned citizen of the tri-county area of SC. That concern lies with the power contract problems between Century Aluminum and Santee Cooper Co-op. I just can not understand why a state owned agency is going to end up forcing a very well established, in great standing as an employer of over 600 people, and a great environmental facility "SHUT DOWN"!!! It's ridiculous! Just the cost of people losing their homes, their children student loans, the thousands of local supporting businesses having their living wages drop. The loss of state and local taxes lost. The list goes on and on! I'm one of those many people who will be a part of the tremendous loss if this plant closes. I've been the owner of a major tooling supplier for this facility for over 30 years. I just hate to see this kind of thing happen to too many good people. Thanks for allowing me to voice my concern, I look to see great results come from your office as have so many other great things! Let's get this done!
