(Columbia)- September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and Thursday in Columbia, Governor Mark Sanford signed a state proclamation making the public aware of this deadly disease.

Board members of the State Division of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition were on hand for this very special event.

Myrna Jeffcoat, State President of NOCC, reminded everyone about the upcoming event, "Whispering Wishes by Wind and Wings." It will be held Wednesday, September 27 on the State House Grounds.
