Dear Governor Haley,
Let me first praise you for the remarkable job you are doing for our beloved state! I am so proud you are our leader and am grateful for the many jobs and wonderful improvements you have implemented.

My purpose in writing is to encourage you to revisit your thinking on increasing the user fees for gasoline...our state is something of a joke to states like NC where I lived briefly, because of the poor condition of highways due in part to low user fees. I am 65 and retired, but have lived in SC my entire life (minus 6 years in Raleigh). I am all for low taxes which you are a staunch advocate for. I don't consider gasoline taxes anything but user fees. Buy a bike or a horse if you must avoid. Even attracting world class companies as BMW,Daimler and Volvo must bring on skepticism as we don't invest in our roads for these fine vehicles...
As the price of gasoline hovers around $1.79 in upstate, we are being offered a real gift to increase fees without causing pain to our citizens. My economic outlook calls for low energy prices for considerable period due to fracking, etc here in USA.
Please don't miss the golden opportunity to put SC into the modern prosperity and out of the "poor, po-dunk" perception outsiders have of us.
Thank you for your service, your example and your leadership. A change in direction could in hindsight,leave a positive legacy for Nikki Haley that you couldn't possibly dream of!
