South Carolina Aquaculture 2002

COLUMBIA, SC---Aquaculture farmers, farm pond owners, and those interested in entering the aquaculture field are invited to attend the South Carolina Aquaculture Association’s annual meeting on January 15, 2003, at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center in Columbia at the intersection of Bush River Road and I-20.

The program will feature discussion of a draft proposal of new legislation Aquaculture Enabling Act, EPA Aquaculture regulations, crop insurance and an overview of SC aquaculture industry. In addition, there will also be a report from the newly formed Seafood Alliance.

The afternoon session will offer the unique opportunity to interact with leaders of the regulatory agencies, researchers as well as state legislators. Discussions will include expanded opportunities for aquaculture including catfish, shrimp, clams, hybrid striped bass, crawfish, farm pond stocking and aquaculture suppliers
