Dear Governor Haley or who it may concern,

I have tried my best to contact someone about this matter since late August and we have seem to be getting the run around. My family and I were getting protective custody of my cousin, Anna, she's on 4-5 years old. Social Services came out and took pictures of everything, food you name it. They told us oh it shouldn't be a problem. Then the Gal lady came out and told us there is a 110 percent that we would get custody of her, so we went and bought cloths for her, school supplies, toys, and got her into a school because we were told 110 percent that we would be getting her until a day before we were to get her the Gal lady who told us we would be getting her that we was not. We have a major problem with this. We tried our best and asked why and they said we are not allowed to say. First of all you don't tell someone there is a 110 percent that you are getting another human being, second the Gal lady and Social Services told us oh don't worry she will be back with her mother soon, Probably within a month. This is December and she is still on a Orphanage/Dss in Mauldin South Carolina. We have heard that once they get a certain age that our Government try's to keep a child in DSS because of the money, it helps our Government get money. Our DSS system needs to be fixed and I mean fixed quick. There are kids out there that needs a loving family instead of being kept in a home where they have no idea where they are at. We thought about getting a lawyer but we shouldn't since our system first told us we would be getting her. Her mother got arrested for numbers of thing's including child abandonment so I am sure she will not be able to get custody of her daughter  for a while, which she shouldn't but our system should not lie to a loving family like my own about getting another life. Something must be done! Please try to understand where I am coming from. It shouldn't be about money, it should be about the children and for goodness sake if there is a family out there who is willing and able to take care of one then allow them to.
