But as a recent transplant i must reiterate something i am sure you already know, the transportation issue in Charleston is unlike anything i have ever seen and getting worse. Congestion is routinely leading to 1 1/2 hour commutes. With more and more jobs coming something has to be done or this coastal economy will grind to a halt. I believe there are unique options in Charleston that need to be considered, such as water travel, trains (longer term), upscale buses with high speed wifi, incentives to allow employees to work from home, incentives for companies (blackbaud and Boeing for example) to create bus stops throughout the city to transport their employees in buses with high speed wifi (much like what google/facebook do in SF), creation of bus/carpool lanes, etc. Something has to be done and the scary thing is i don't see any construction at all. Nothing! As a fellow republican i would love to help think through ideas or at least hear more about what the plan is to fix this issue. Thanks for your time.
