As a resident of Charleston, I was deeply deeply saddened to hear of your endorsement (vote, same thing) of Donald Trump and his racist rhetoric. You, who has seen this city through such grief and turmoil and led the fight to unite not only Charleston but the state of South Carolina. I was looking forward to your political future on a state and national level. But now, I realize that your party, good or bad, comes first no matter what the cost to personal integrity as you have shown with your Trump endorsement. Not speaking out about this truly scary candidate does not show moral judgement on your part and sadly you have fallen in line under an unqualified candidate to lead this country down a very uncertain path. With regret, I withdraw my support. Maria Tomlinson, Charleston, SC
