For months I've been following the discussion of our eroding roads and have traveled our beautiful state to experience the horrible conditions of our highways. I am disappointed that you are more interested in your political future rather than the future of your residents, especially the younger generations. Because of your unwillingness to fund our roads with a simple tax (I know, if you support a tax you feel that your political future will be ruined), our roads will continue to deteriorate along with the education of our young people. See Scott Price's article in The Greenville News ("Don't rob schools to pay for roads") and today's article by Jeffrey Collins, "No road tax hike despite potholes." 

I understand that your tenure as Governor is short and that you need to build support for your political future. I only wish that you would consider those of us who live and love this state and who plan on living here for quite some time. Sadly, your lack of leadership and lack of interest in the future of SC residents has jeopardized our quality-of-life and education in this state.

Please, do something to improve our roads as well as the education of our children. Create a sustainable plan for our roads. You showed strength in addressing the flag; I would like you to show the same level of strength in ensuring our future with safe roads without compromising the education of our children.
