Yesterday we began getting panicked call and volunteers stopping in to tell us the Governor stated that we needed to leave immediately. As you can imagine, the thought of having to move 70 dogs and 30 cats and the supplies required to sustain them concerned us greatly. Our local officials immediately announce that the Governor had misspoken and there was no need for us to evacuate. We continue to get conflicting stories and now there are reports of National Guardsmen in Pawleys Island. Why has the Governor either come out to correct her statement, or say that she disagrees with our local officials. If she stands by her statement, I want to know, so I can evacuate my family and my elderly parents. No one here really knows what to do. Could Gov. Haley, please comment further to clarify things for us? I don't think it is fair for us to be getting conflicting opinions on a matter of life and death.
