I recently wrote a letter to Gov Haley' office  about a big idea that I had about a technical/engineering center in the Charleston area. I got a polite but condescending reply from  one of Gov. Haley's  clerks (perhaps you). I could tell by the caller's comments that she  thought I knew very little about higher education in this state. Just because I am not in Columbia, I am not ignorant.  To be honest, that reply really made me very angry. 

I do not need some office clerk counseling me about my ideas. Your close minded  answer is exactly why government is ineffective. They think that only they are  capable of thinking. Great organizations have failed due to group-think like that.  My idea may have not be perfect but not because of the reasons given. 

Unlike governments, I embrace and study new ideas no matter how crazy because I do not want to miss a good opportunity. General Electric taught me this.   

However, I keep learning another lesson about governments. You can't deal with government unless you are in government. That is one reason our roads and schools are in such a big mess.   

I will never send you another idea. So,  don't ever contact me again. Do not call me and do not respond to this message.
