 Sheheen Wins Senate Seat
(Columbia-AP) -- Another Democrat will fill the District 27 Senate seat open since the death in October of Democratic Senator Donald Holland.

Camden Representative Vincent Sheheen beat Republican candidate Steve Kelly with 61 percent of the vote yesterday in a special election. The district is made up of Kershaw, Chesterfield,
Lancaster and Marlboro counties.

Kelly says he will run against Sheheen again in the November general election.

Sheheen says he will try to serve in the same manner as Holland and will continue his efforts on economic development, tax and school funding reform.
