I learned today that 100% of my income minus $1 will be levied from my banking account until the balance is paid. I owe this SC Income Tax (and Federal Income Tax) due to an error I made filing taxes in 2011. I was laid off from my job at the Savannah River Site were I had worked for 20 years. I chose retirement instead. I looked for work for about a year and a half while drawing unemployment and living off of my SIP. I depleted my SIP and only drew unemployment benefits for about a year. Due to an error on the Employment Commission's part I stopped applying for the benefit. The reason I owe to the State of SC and The IRS is I forgot to claim the money I withdrew from my SIP (that I lived on for the year and half I was unemployed) on my taxes for 2011. I am unable to work and have not been able since July of 2015. I have been diagnosed with Crohns. I have had at least 3 surgeries since July 2015. One was to remove a portion of diseased colon removed, and sported a ileostomy while the colon healed. The ileostomy was reversed in February of 2016. The Doctor is attempting to put me on Humira (Blue Cross/Blue Shield is resisting the idea... the medication is approx. $5000 a month.)The only income I have is my pension that I am drawing from Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, approx. $780 after TAXES. I would like for the debt to be forgiven, reduced or at least the levy stopped and some payment arrangements made. At this rate I will lose the car I am paying for. I tried to file for disability but was denied. Please, any help will be appreciated. 24.145.32.231
