Hello Gov. Haley,
I just read that you are refusing to let Syrian refugees into our state. If this is true it greatly disappoints me.  I understand the national security threats that are driving these decisions, but I do not believe the way forward is to be driven by fear.  My faith guides my worldview and I believe that Jesus teaches us to love our neighbors, even when they threaten our very lives.  I understand that there is a separation of church and state, but I believe that the principals Jesus laid out for making this world better transcend religion and politics.  I feel strongly that the only way to truly eradicate the ISIS ideology is to show them a radically different ideology that works much better for human flourishing and I believe the first step to doing that is loving our neighbors in the face of imminent danger.  Putting ourselves at risk for others is a risk I'm willing to take.  Please consider changing your position on allowing refugees into our state.  I appreciate the hard decisions that you must have to make every day, and I know this would be a very hard decision and maybe not the most popular one.  But now is a time for our leaders to make bold decisions to bring our world forward!  This is not about politics.  This is not about democrats vs. republicans.  This is about thousands of suffering people who did not choose to be born in a place of war and suffering, just as I didn't choose to be born in this place of freedom and peace.  Please think carefully about this, and if you are a believer in God I would ask that you pray and read the new testament for answers.  Thank you so much for your consideration!
