Shutterbugs, grab your cameras and get outside! South Carolina Wildlife magazine’s 23rd Annual Outdoor Photography Competition and Print Exhibition is open to anyone interested in photography, and winning prints will be displayed at the Palmetto Sportsmen’s Classic at the State Fairgrounds, March 23-25, 2007, in Columbia. There is no entry fee for the contest. Entry deadline is March 5, 2007.
The contest has two divisions: amateur and advanced. Subject matter is wildlife (animal, plant, etc.), outdoor scenes and outdoor resource activities (fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, etc.) in South Carolina. This year, for the first time, contest coordinators have created a special category for weather photos. In this category, we’re looking for really dramatic weather-related images—lightning, wind, rain, hail, fog, ice and snow. All entries must be taken in S.C.
Photos must be submitted as 8x10 or 11x14 prints, which must be mounted on 11x14 or 16x20 1/8-inch-thick mount board. Digital and film images are acceptable in color and black-and-white, but no alteration of content in images is allowed.
