I am a small business here in Irmo.  Over the past few years, I seen many great jobs and corporations coming to our state.  I attribute much of this to your administration.  I don't understand why our tax money is being used to lure them here, and then our small businesses aren't getting any benefit.  Even our state agencies and universities aren't using us.  I have lost business because the state departments are mandating people to use Grainger for there safety supplies.  You know, there are a few companies in this state who supply this stuff, and can do it with better pricing, service, and free delivery.  Grainger, Fastenal, MSC Direct and the like, don't originate from SC. They don't care about SC.  They are here to simply get the money.  This is criminal to allow these corporations, especially the state, to use the peoples money and not use the people. The purchasing system is a sham, and it is not working as it supposed to work.  I am not saying I should get the business!  I am saying that we should have a shot at it.  I know my company can supply these items in more cost effective ways than the big corporations.  I do it all the time.  It is a shame to see this state get fleeced by these corporations.
